Meet the Creator

About Sheila Yakobina

As a child, growing up in Montreal, Quebec, Sheila dreamed of traveling to another planet. When that didn't work out, she decided to create her own!

She grew up believing that every great adventure needs two things: a brave sister to have your back and a talking cat to provide the commentary. Sol Sisters and the Cosmic Catastrophe was inspired by all the cats who have ever owned her—and wondering what they would say if they could actually talk.

When she isn't crafting stories filled with sisterhood, high-stakes rescues, and cosmic wonders, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, reading, experimenting with recipes, and spending time with her family in Washington State. This is her debut novel.

About S.C. Watson (Shane)

Shane has been illustrating for clients like Wizards of the Coast, Fantasy Flight Games, and self-publishing authors for over twenty-five years.

Based in his studio on beautiful Orcas Island, Washington, he works under the strict supervision of his art-director cat, Jaspurr, and a local squirrel family. When he’s not painting, Shane can be found wandering the island woods, arguing about the artistic merits of the color taupe, and trying to look like he knows what he's doing while desperately wishing someone would open a local sushi restaurant.
